I am having trouble subtracting dates to produce number of days, if there is a missing number it produces the date code instead of a 0.
Also if my date completed is after my date entered it produces a negative number instead of a 0.
I've a spreadsheet here in Excel 2010 which I'm populating with a table outputted from another program. One of the columns in it will be a list of dates (in American format though!). What I need is a function which looks at this date and returns the difference between this and the current date in days (rounded to whole number is fine)
Is it the DATE360 function I need for this?
I have Googled, binged and asked, with no answers - So, now I'm here.
All I want to do is subtract two dates and express the result in years and days -
I am having some trouble with some date subtraction and then it occurred to me what I am trying to do might not even be possible! Any advice/help would be amazing.
I have a list of dates dating back to 2001 and I want to take the current date (Feb 23, 2011) and subtract the list of dates and I want the result to be just the number of months it is.
Current Date: 2/23/2011
Result: 134 (months between the two dates)
I am trying to subtract dates in Excel 200 in the following format; year-month-day. Ex. from the beginning of the year till today would be 104th day, but when I try to subtract 20120413 from 20120101 the result is 312.incorrect! For the form I am dealing with, I cannot change the date formatting to more common format.

This Dreamweaver extension allows you to insert a calendar which can be used by your website visitors to select dates - for example, check-in and check-out dates - for a reservation.
This calendar allows two selection types: "complete day" or "partial day". Complete day means that the first and the last days booked are charged as full days; Partial Day means that they are charged as half-days only. Partial Day system is widely used by hotels: guests are supposed to arrive and leave within a certain timeframe - the earliest check-in time and the latest check-out time; if these times are respected, the customer is charged half a daily rate for both the arrival day and the departure day, thereby matching the number of nights actually spent in the hotel. An example of such system is shown on this page.
This is a simple script to calculate the difference between two dates and express it in years, months and days. Use as in: "my age is 40 years, 2 month and 17 days old"
Feel free to use this script for whatever you want.
