# Solving for an exponential variable (x) of e

## Solving for an exponential variable (x) of e

Not sure if this would be able to be solved using solver, having trouble, help greatly appreciated

97.5=100e^(-x(1/4))

How would I solve for this using excel. Answer= 0.10127

97.5=100e^(-x(1/4))

(divided by 100 both sides, ult by -4)

-4* ln(97.5/100)=-x(1/4) *-4

This is for deterring continuously compounded zero rates

Bond price= Bond principle (e)^r(t)

### Solving exponential

The data below represent x and y values which fit an exponential equation

is there a way to use the solver to establish what x is when y is zero?

I need to do this for thousands of data sets like these so it needs to be fairly painless!

The answer is about 480!

### Exponential Regression

Is there any way to perform an exponential regression that provides an output comparable to that given by the data analysis add-in? I have used LOGEST, but I would much prefer having a residual plot, probability plot etc. made available.

### Solving for an unknown Dollar Amount

So I am trying to solve for an unknown dollar amount if I know a few variables.

How could I do so?

If I know the following.

Price Increase - $.25

Variable Costs - 55%

Sales Tax - 8%

Price to stay flat on margin - (Unknown)

The answer is $.60 if I go about it backwards, but I can't figure out how to get to the target using an excel function. Is it possible?

### Data read from exponential graph

I would like to read y data from the established exponential graph (as shown in attachment) from each x value: 2.25, 2.26, 2.27.

How can I show these values y on the graph? I'm currently using Microsoft Excel 2007.

### Explore Variables

“Explore” simply allows you to explore your big variables like objects or arrays in clean interface. Just include explore.php and use explore() function to get very interactive interface to explore your variable.

With this source code, you’ll explore your variable with a clean interface, even if they’re huge objects or arrays, you’ll easily navigate on the variable structure.

### create sliders to interactively adjust any variable

Slider.as is an immensely useful development tool. It enables you to create sliders to interactively adjust any variable!

How many particles should be emitted? How much alpha should the button overlay have? How long should the meny fade-in take? With Slider.as you can just drag-n-drop until you get it right!

Sliders supports keyboard input, are drag-&-droppable, can handle negative value spans, can round to a specified decimal place and of course all of their settings can be adjusted in realtime.

### Jtpl - simple template engine for Java servlet

Jtpl is a template engine for Java Servlet which allows you to store your HTML code apart from your Java code.

A template engine is a software module which is used to generate HTML pages. The layout of a HTML page is defined within a template file, which can be designed by using a standard HTML editor. At run-time, the application program instructs the template engine to load the template, fill in variable values, repeat blocks and produce the final HTML page.

There are other template engines (like Velocity, WebMacro or Struts) which are huge and use complex syntaxes. Jtpl however uses a very simple template syntax. All processing (loops, if-then-else logic) and variable formatting is done in the Java code, which leads to better separation of layout and code, and no new complex syntax has to be learned.
