how to overlap 2 graphs/2 scales to relay information
Is there a way to make the scales the same for when you have column and line data on one graph? Because, when I try and compare the two scales (top to bottom) they don't match up exactly.
I'm trying to find an elegant (less caveman) way of calculating the overlap between two time ranges.
For example: No overlap, partial overlap, full overlap (enclosed) - ie returning just the time.
So if range 1 = 10:00 to 12:00 and range 2 - 14:00 to 18:00 there will be zero minutes overlap
but if range 1 = 10:00 to 15:23 and range 2 - 14:00 to 18:00 there will be 1:23 overlap
It can be calculated with columns of Ifs, but I want a tidy solution in just one column labeled "overlap"
Can this be done (possibly using sumproduct and some unary operations)?
there are three columns in the excel file. I want to compare column B to A and C to A. Export the overlap items to column D and E.
Actually there is no overlap between B and A, but I still want a formula.
When I make a point graph in excel, some of my data points are positioned exactly on top of each other.
That's a problem, because my winter data has the same value as my summer data. But now I can not see whether my summer data is hidden behind my winter data or that maybe my summer data is altogether flawed and not in my graph at
Of course I can use different markers for both data types, but I'd rather use an offset option or something like that.
I use Excel 2003
I've been tasked with combining two separate charts into one for a Powerpoint presentation. One of the charts contains two y-axes, both line graphs, while the other chart contains a single y-axis that is a bar graph. Typically, I print the line graph chart on a transparency and simply overlay that over the bar graph. However, my manager wishes to see both in one single graph for use in a presentation. Any ideas on how to do this?
I've provided the graphs below with all labels removed for security purposes. The idea is to take "Chart1" and overlay it onto "Chart2." If this cannot be done in Excel, can it be done somewhere else?
Is there a way to copy and paste just the lines and axes labels? I've tried this, but I always bring along the background as well even with transparency set to 100%.
