How do I resize a data label box in a pie chart to stop text wrapp
In Excel 2003, I can't seem to re-shape the data labels text boxes in my pie
chart. I can change the font and alignment of the text within the text box.
But, if the text defaults onto two or three lines, I cannot stretch the text box out to get the text to stay on one line. Normally, you can pull on the the little handles on the text box. Is there a trick to this that I don't
When creating a pie chart in Excel then pasting into Powerpoint, I have trouble getting the data labels to look ok. Often times the font is so small it can't be read. When you increase the font size, often a the label such as "October Sales" would be pushed to 2 lines with "October Sa" on the
first line. When you select the label, a box appears around the words, but it can not be resized, to get the label back to one line. My work around has been to delete all the label info and leader lines and then to retype the info using drawing/text boxes. Problem is the text boxes are not related to the pie chart and any changes to the pie chart data is not carried over to the new text boxes.
I'm having this problem that when I develop a pie chart with values then decide to resize the chart the formatting of the value changes due to the text box around the value is fixed. For example if a piece of a pie chart was 44%, when I resize the chart to the size I require sometimes the % sign falls below the 44 and not beside it. This is not good quality when the charts are for publications. Alternatively, I could develop separate text boxes for each piece of pie but that is somewhat cumbersome. Does anyone have
In EXCEL 2003 (but all versions have given this problem)
When making a pie chart with long label names & especially when including other data, (%, & values) the names wrap part to next line.
Is there a fix to make the label box wider?
I am having a strange problem here. I have a pie chart with data labels of category, value, and percentage. I am trying to customize by changing text size and text color on percentage. However, the chart and data labels won't update when the numbers on the source table change. What's wrong? I am using Excel 2010.
