function to pull cell information from column based on cell location
If I have a formula in a cell can base its content off that cell. What I mean is say in E2 I have the following equation =IF(SUM(F6:L6)>0,SUM(F6:L6),""). I want to format it so it would be something like0=IF(SUM((F[CELL
LOCATION+4]:L[CELL LOCATION+4])>0,SUM(F[CELL LOCATION+4]:L[CELL
LOCATION+4]),""). I know this is a correction function, but I just want to explain what I mean
How do I populate a cell with a numeric value based on the text selection from a pull down in another cell?
For example, the values available from the cell pull down in column A are "High", "Medium", and "Low".
I would like the adjacent cells in column B to populate with a numeric value based on what was selected from the pull downs in column A.
In column A I have a bunch of job numbers, with information in both column E and F for each job. I have a subset list in column I that are all specific jobs from jobs in A.
Basically, I want to find out if the job in I is in column A, and if so, I need it to show the information from column F.
Is there a way to use an IF formula to pull information from cells based on whether the formatting of the cell matches the criteria formatting.
ie.in words, I'd like to do this.
If F1 is shaded with the dot pattern, pull A1:E1 to a summary sheet.
I already have an array-entered IF formula that currently says:
If F1 = "a", pull A1:E1 to the summary sheet.I just want to see if formatting can be recognized with normal formulas.
