Color coding cells
I have an attendance sheet for an organization which uses color coding to mark people out for the day ( different colors correspond to different reasons ). I need to track how many people are present in each division each day ( I don't care who is out or why at this point ). I know excel doesn't deal well with function and color, so I am looking for advice on how to count cells without color coding in them, and also be able to update automatically when a user changes color coding in the cells.
I love conditional formating but it allows only 3 different colour coding.
1) 10 different colour coding (possibly using VBA, but don't know how) 2) Functional arguments that cells to determine 10 different specific "text" from other sheets in the same workbook(using "IF" function?)
I have a worksheet set up where one column of data (we shall call it "A") is the result of several other columns' calculations (uses a formula referencing other cells). I have an entirely separate cell that also gets its data from other cells (we shall call this "B"). What I'm trying to do is make the shading of column "A" dependent upon data from column "B". For example, if column "B's" value is >24, I want column "A" to shade in red. Is there any way I can accomplish this? I have been scouring the internet trying to find
I need to know how to add multiple horizontal bars to bar graphs? I have tried adding conditional formating to the plot area with no avail. Can someone explain the way to complete this task. Is there something that I can add to the data that will create this color coding for me? Is the another program I can import the chart into to alter it? Please help I have been trying to find a way for a month. Please reply via e-mail to .
I need to set up color coding for five different conditions - can you help me?
if A1 cell value is greater than or equal to 6 then color yellow if A1 cell value is between 5 and 6 then color silver if A1 cell value is between 4 and 5 then color blue if A1 cell value is less than 4 then color red if A1 cell value has no value (entered) then color cyan
can we do this with conditional formatting or do we need VB for this? if vb is needed can I get some idea how to create the code.
I am not good at coding.
