I have a workbook that displays "Circular references" in the lower left corner.
I have checked each worksheet but the message does not change to include the cell reference containing the error on any of them.
I have checked that there are no hidden sheets (including Excel Very Hidden).
Does anyone have any ideas about how to proceed?
I can't install new software or add-ins as that is a sacking offense.
Everytime I have a circular reference, an error message pops up, and then Excel loads the help entry in a new window. I like the error message, but is there any way to stop Excel from opening the new window without disabling the error message? I am moderately proficient with vba, so I am open to that kind of solution as well.
Whenever I enter a circular reference, I get a nasty warning. What makes it nasty is that the default response takes you to a help screen, and even when you select Cancel, it takes awhile to actually cancel.
Since I know how to deal with circular references, and there are times when I either want to enter a circular reference or I plan to deal with the circular reference shortly after entering it, the automated warning is terribly annoying. The circular notification on the status bar is plenty for my needs.
Is there a way to suppress this warning when I enter a circular reference?
I've got a workbook with some formula with (deliberate) circular
references in them. They've suddenly stopped working. Is there
anything the user might have done to make this happen?
I have come across a spreadsheet in Excel 200 which exceeds the 65536 number of formulas that Excel's dependency table can keep track of. The consequence is that 'Calculate' is permanently displayed in the status bar, AND (much more important), it cannot keep track of circular references.
By opening the file on my machine with Excel 2003 SP3, I was able to locate
the circular references and correct them.
What is the max number of formulas that Excel 2003 can track in its dependency database?
What about 2007 does that increase the number of formulas that can be
